Buying a Furnished Flat in Surat – What to Check

A furnished flat saves the cost and time of interiors. Before you buy one in Surat, be clear about what is included and what condition it is in.

What "fully furnished" commonly includes

• Beds and mattresses, wardrobes and storage
• Dining table and chairs, sofa and tables
• Curtains and light fittings, ceiling fans
• Modular kitchen with cabinets and a water purifier
• Air conditioners in some rooms

Inspection checklist

1. Wardrobes and cabinets – hinges, drawers, locks and water damage.
2. Electricals – switches, sockets, fans, geyser and AC working condition.
3. Plumbing – taps, drains and any signs of seepage in bathrooms and utility area.
4. Walls and ceilings – damp patches or cracks.
5. Windows and grills – smooth operation and secure fitting.

Write the inclusions into the agreement
